Disappointment on New Year's Day...or just life teaching us to keep going.

#OU was playing in the #RoseBowl on New Year's Day!  Expectations were high for this team.  I was nervous for them but looked forward to a win.  What resulted was such an incredible game between both teams...one for the ages and I think, well played for "the Granddaddy of them all."

Unfortuately, #OU came out on the wrong side. Excited for Georgia's players and heartbroken for the Sooners. As I sunk into the couch after the game...watching the victorious 'Dawgs get their winning trophy surrounded by heaps of confetti...  I remembered some words from the great Dr. Seuss.

"...You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t.
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so
But, sadly, it’s true
That Bang-ups
And Hang-ups
Can happen to you..."

The book continues much like a roller coaster (just like life) and things get better... before...

"...Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
Will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You’ll be famous as famous can be,
With the whole wide world watching you win on TV.
Except when they don’t.
Because, sometimes, they won’t..."

Yep, it's true my friends - Dr. Seuss is right. There are times when you're hot...there are times when you're just not. But if you just keep working, guess what?

"...And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!"

P.S. Have no fear that #OU will be back - that much is "98% and ¾ percent guaranteed."

Thanks for reading... Go out and have yourself a fabulous 2018..and keep reaching for your#GoodLife, because you'll be amazed at "the places you'll go" when you do.
